Buddha, sitting in Khmer style, approx. 50 cm high, cast lava stone. This special Buddha from our Yogya collection is made of concrete and earthenware in a so-called dry casting process. In the course of this process, very little liquid is used, giving the figure its characteristically rough surface, similar to that of a natural stone. Following the usual working procedures of the casting process, the contours of the sculpture are reworked and refined by hand. The right hand of this Buddha rests on the knee and the fingers point towards the earth. The left hand rests on the lap with the palm facing upwards. "Bhumisparsha" means as much as "touching the earth". All sculptures made of moulded stone are absolutely frost-proof and can be used outdoors all year round.
