This stone is harder than the basanite stone we are used to and can therefore be worked more precisely and in greater detail. Only a few artists have the skills to work this stone into a highlight. Bhumisparsha: The right hand of this Buddha rests on the knee and the fingers point towards the earth. The left hand rests on the lap with the palm facing upwards. "Bhumisparsha" means as much as "touching the earth".
